I hold a MSc. in international business, strategy and culture (1994) and a BSc in business administration, culture and languages (1991) from Copenhagen Business School.

I started my career as analyst and later head of analysis at the influential business executive newsletter and think tank Mandag Morgen (1991-1997) where I mostly worked with market analysis, policy development and studies of national competitiveness. As a senior strategist at the communication agency, Advice A/S, I worked with strategy, stakeholder communication and brand positioning for a range of public ministries, political organizations and corporate clients.

From 2001-2015 I worked as executive vice president of business development and market communication at Wonderful Copenhagen DMO. I conceived and executed a winde range of projects, partnerships and stakeholder activities. I also served as Copenhagen’s lead on international relations and representation in organizations such as ECM, DMAI and WTCF. I was a board member of European Cities Marketing (2013-2015) and chaired various working groups and projects including the annual European City Tourism Benchmark Report, which gives a comprehensive statistical analysis on the growth performance of Europe’s 110 leading city destinations.
